About Prada
Prada was founded in Milan in 1913 by Mario Prada, as a shop selling leather goods in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. In the 1980s Miuccia Prada introduced bags in nylon, an industrial fabric that became a house signature.
Today the house works in leather and in Re-Nylon, its regenerated nylon, often finished with the enamelled triangle logo. Check the triangle plaque, the corners and the hardware. Each listing states the condition grade and what comes with the piece.

What To Look At
General points worth checking on any Prada piece. Each listing adds the specifics: condition grade, what is included and any flaws.
01
Nylon is light and hard-wearing; check the leather trim and the corners rather than the fabric itself.
02
Look at the triangle plaque for scratches or chips in the enamel.
03
Saffiano resists scratches well, but its corners and edges still show wear.
Questions
Prada Answered
What is Prada Re-Nylon?
Re-Nylon is regenerated nylon made from recovered materials. Prada uses it in place of the original nylon the house introduced to its bags in the 1980s.
How does Luxury Club authenticate Prada pieces?
Every piece is physically inspected by our specialists before it is listed: construction, hardware, materials and markings are checked against what is expected of the maker and the era. Nothing is approved from photographs alone, and every sale includes a Certificate of Authenticity documenting what was verified on that specific piece.
